Noto House sits lightly within its landscape, a spacious and light-filled passive house that balances sustainability with contemporary living. The design is thoughtful and deliberate, oriented to maximise thermal performance and comfort while drawing natural light deep into the plan.
At the heart of the home lies a planted courtyard that brings nature into daily life. This central space quietly divides the living and sleeping areas, offering a moment of calm and connection as light and shadow move through the day. Views of the surrounding escarpments are carefully framed, creating a backdrop that brings the outdoors into every room.
Material choices speak to longevity and ease, with durable low-maintenance finishes that will weather and patina gracefully. The use of repurposed hardwood studs from the original cottage that once stood on the site creates a quiet dialogue between past and present, weaving the memory of the place into the new fabric of the home.
Built by Souter Built, whose expertise in passive house construction ensures exceptional performance, Noto House embodies a commitment to energy efficiency, comfort, and environmental sensitivity. It is a home designed not just for today but for the years to come, where heritage and future are held in balance.
